The Park Board is looking to get new members to train in this year, as some of them will be resigning. They are willing to work with anyone and get him or her familiar with the process. Members do NOT have to live within the village limits. Please contact the village hall if interested or just have questions about it.
There are other new projects happening. The transmission and small engine repair shop is in business on Hwy. 35. The car wash is in operation. There is some planning happening in the Industrial park. We will be having the lots marked off and look at improvements on the road to make it more appealing and a cost savings by doing more at one time. There is some interest noted for potential businesses that have not acted at this time. This may change our incentive proposal. We want to continue to attract businesses that also create jobs.
The neighborhood watch program seems to be a great success. There are some involved families that are making great efforts to make this work. Parents also need to accept their responsibilities for their children and their whereabouts to make this effort work. Stricter fines and punishments will have to be enacted if needed.
Village Board meetings are 2nd Monday each month at 7:30 PM.
